Germany VS Finland
15/10/09, 00:00

Germany – 25 points
Russia – 21 points
Finland – 17 points
With a match to go for each of the above teams, Germany is already assured that they top this Group and will win that automatic ticket to the WC 2010 in South Africa. Russia, 4 points Germany and 4 points ahead of Finland are also assured of that play-off ticket and those certainties make this match nothing more than just pride at stake in as far the Finns are concerned.
But the visitors cannot expect any favors from the Germans. To begin with, the Germans have yet to lose a match in this competition and have won all their matches here to date. They will want to keep that good record in tact and only the robust tackles in this match that could probably end in injuries could deter them from going for a win. With this matcxh played here at the Fubbal Arena in Munich, Germany, it is unlikely that the match will in any way turn ugly.
The Germans are a well-rounded side that's strong in all departments. Up front they have Klose, Gomes and Podolski to get them the needed goals and thse strikers are well supported by the versatile Mesut Ozil, Ballack, Rolfes, Marin and Hitzlsperger whilst their defence will be mounted by Mertesacker, Freidrich and the versatile overlapping right back Philip Lahm.
Man for man, the Finns is no match despite having seasoned campaigners in the likes of Hyypia, Litmanen, Tainio and Forssell. And even in terms of skill and strategy only Litmanen and Hyypia have the skill and experience to match their counterpart, but then the Finn duo have seen better days and are in the twilight days of their career.
There are two main reasons as to why the Germans will not hold back but to go out to win this match. The main one being the fact that they owe it to their fans to give them something to cheer for with a resounding win and the other being the fact that they will want to keep their home winning streak in tact!
A confident vote for the Germans!
